Martha was born in what use to be Byer hospital (now the Barix clinics at Forest Health Medical Center) in Ypsi. 1984-2006 she held public office as the Superior Township Treasurer then as Park Commissioner. When she stepped down from county commissions she stepped onto the Freighthouse board and helps to run the gardens.
She also makes the adorable engineer hats that she is wearing to help raise money for the Freighthouse.
